Size Meets Smarts: Discover John Deere’s Largest Tractor Yet, the 2025 9RX Series
In a move that marks a significant milestone in its 187-year history, John Deere has once again risen to new heights of innovation with an expansive product launch at this year’s Commodity Classic tradeshow in Houston, Texas. The unveiling of the Model Year 2025 lineup introduces cutting-edge machinery that promises to redefine industry standards for power, productivity, and precision. But everyone is talking about the John Deere New 9RX and for good reason.
Three new models of the autonomy-ready 9RX series tractors were unveiled, boasting an industry-leading 830 horsepower model that merges brute strength with smart technology. The new tractor lineup includes three new high-horsepower four-track models: the 9RX 710, the 9RX 770 and the 9RX 830.
Built from the ground up to handle high horsepower
With an impressive 830 horsepower, the new model allows for seeding with double the cart capacity even on inclines, and increases your speed by 1 mph (1.6 km/h). Achieve optimal tilling speeds, covering an additional 100 acres (40.6 hectares) daily, and utilize broader implements to reduce ripper passes by 1,000 annually. The high-horsepower 9RX Tractors offer enhanced visibility and a quieter operation, coupled with precision agriculture technology, enabling confident, high-speed performance.

The CommandView™ 4 Plus cab upgrades mean the 9RX isn’t just a workspace; it’s a sanctuary. The 15% increase in floor space and a 20% improvement in visibility on the right-hand side transform it into a haven of productivity and ease. The enhancements extend beyond spatial upgrades to include increased storage capacity and elevated comfort, bolstering operator confidence. The innovative cab suspension, with its full 3 degrees of motion and an isolated subframe, ensures that operators remain insulated and don’t feel jolts and jostles of uneven terrain, as well as the noise that typically accompanies big machines.
The technology package accompanying the new 9RX series is futurisitic but the future is here. The tractor boasts the G5 plus CommandCenter™ Display and the Integrated StarFire™ 7500 receiver. There is also the optional G5 Advanced technology package, featuring SF-RTK to unlock unparalleled accuracy and efficiency. The synergy between AutoTrac Turn Automation, AutoTrac Implement Guidance, AutoPath planning, and the connectivity afforded by the John Deere Operations Center and JDLink, creates a cohesive, highly efficient technological ecosystem. This integration ensures that critical field and machine data are always accessible, enabling informed decision-making and optimised productivity.

The launch also features the C-Series air carts, designed to enhance seeding-time productivity, quality, and accuracy.
In an era where technology and agriculture intersect, John Deere’s factory installation of the AI-enabled See & Spray™ Premium weed sensing technology on the Hagie STS sprayers represents another essential now factory installed.
The S7 Series combines round out the new offerings, featuring new fuel-efficient engines, cutting edge automation features and updated residue handling, grain handling, and loss sensing systems.
Aaron Wetzel, Vice President of Production & Precision Agriculture Production Systems at John Deere, emphasized the scale and significance of this launch, stating, “This is one of the largest product launches in our company’s history, and it reflects John Deere’s commitment to seeking input from our customers and delivering quality solutions that unlock new value for their operations.” Wetzel highlighted the holistic approach taken in developing these products, from enhancing operator comfort with new cab designs to increasing sustainability and productivity through the application of innovative technologies.
What the 9RX models mean for you
Michael Porter, market manager for the John Deere tractor line, puts the release into perspective. “We love to talk about numbers and specifications,” Porter said. “But ultimately, these new machines are built to help farmers meet critical seeding, planting and field prep windows. For corn and soybean farmers, the 9RX models allow them to pull wider implements and reduce the number of spring and fall passes. For small grain farmers, the higher engine and hydraulic power mean they can pull fully loaded air seeders over virtually any type of terrain without slowing down.
